There are two types of orchids in my house.
Mini Phalaenopsis and Dendrobium ‘Angel Baby Green Love’.
Both are in their third year. (And both were less than 1,000 yen; lol)

Last year, based on information on the internet, the mini Phalaenopsis orchid grew two leaves and the dendro flower grew four.
This year, I used NHK Hobby Gardening’s “12 Months of Easy-to-Understand Cultivation” series as a reference.

Then, the mini Phalaenopsis orchid grew three new leaves, a root and a flower bud,
The dendro has grown to about 1.4 times the size of last year and is now fertilizing the stems.
I’m very happy, so I’ll show you how it goes♪

When I observed it today, the flower buds were growing very long.

In the November 16th article, I was happy to say that “flower buds have appeared,” but now they have grown to 4 cm.
Since the temperature has been low lately, the leaves are starting to fall, but the flower buds are healthy so I guess that’s okay.

I’m currently fertilizing the stems to get lots of flower buds.
Since low temperatures are their enemy, I have been keeping them indoors during the day since mid-November.

I’m gaining weight in a good way ♪ I guess I’ll have a little more time before I expose it to the cold.
Well, there’s no need for it to bloom, but it’s good if it’s in good condition. happy.

Finally, note how to manage these two plants at this time of year.

・When the minimum temperature drops below 15℃, you can enter your house at night.
・If the maximum temperature drops below 15℃, you can enter your house during the day.
→ Cover the pot with a fruit protection net (for apples or melons).
→ At night, cover it with a plastic bag and move it from the window to the center of the room.

The growth of the plant will tell you whether this is suitable or not.
