About the care of Sunbritainia Watering of Sunbritainia – Mistakes
Today I’d like to talk about the reason I came up with this blog, and how to care for Sunbritainia.

I thought I was growing it according to the official website, but
As I said it was for advanced users, it was difficult for me as a gardening beginner.
I let it dry out once, and now it has come back to life.

As a result, I realized that the most important thing is how well you water.
I think it was difficult to understand just from the explanation in words on the site,
Also, on the internet I could only find people who were raising them well, so
I decided to write an article that also serves as a memorandum.
This is just my home environment and this year’s case, but I hope it will be helpful to someone.

・・・・・・・・・Our home environment・・・・・・・・・

Around the middle of Osaka.

South-facing balcony on the middle floor of the apartment.
There are no buildings blocking the sun, so it’s very sunny.

It’s extremely hot in the summer, and warm and warm even in the middle of winter when it’s sunny.

I got Sunbritainia Scarlet in September of this year.
When the heat was still lingering, I picked it up to add some color to the veranda, which was just beginning to grow lush greenery.

The temperature at that time was a maximum of just under 30 degrees Celsius and a minimum of around 20 degrees Celsius.
Place it on a well-ventilated shelf that is in the shade of other plants but receives sunlight.
I planted it in a deep plastic pot with a diameter of 15cm.

As stated on the official website, it is resistant to stuffiness,''touches dry,” and “doesn’t need to be watered.”
Although I wait until the pot is dry enough for it to become light and the soil changes color before I water it thoroughly.
The leaves start to wither from the bottom.

The roots are thin.

I give water until it overflows from the bottom of the pot,
Although other plants are fine with this method, I searched the internet and found that it was strange, but
There are only people who are raising them well.

In mid-October, I started thinking about disposing of the things that hadn’t completely withered.
Recovery began with a discovery.

This is going to be long, so I’ll continue it next time.
