How to Treat the Soil

Natural gardening: handling the soil
I started gardening on my balcony without using fertilizers or pesticides around October last year.
The first thing I did was to stop applying fertilizers and pesticides, and the next thing I did was to improve the soil environment.

How to Treat the Soil

Around that time, it is time to dispose of spring, summer, and fall seedlings and replace them with winter and spring seedlings.
I was wondering what to do with the soil, which until now had been removed with a sieve and exposed to the cold wind, so this time I decided to experiment with something a little different.

✓ First: Stop sifting the soil.

In any case, I was told not to touch the soil in order to maintain the soil’s aggregate structure, so I decided to follow suit.
After removing the large stones and roots that were bothering me when I turned the pot over, and loosening the soil a little, I decided to leave it alone, thinking that it would be enough to notice it by now.

✓ Second: Plant leguminous plants to encourage aggregate structure.

The Miracle Apple'' I used as a reference, Mr. Akinori Kimura, said,First, sow soybeans on rough soil.” (However, the book I read the other day said “Wheat first,” but that’s okay.)
However, since I don’t grow vegetables at home, I went to the store to look for garden varieties from the legume family.
Maybe it’s not so common during the cold season from fall to spring? , I couldn’t get it.

I thought it wasn’t worth ordering online, but I found it!
Bean sprouts in the kitchen! ! !

So, for now, it’s better to have something than nothing, and I’m just saying, hurry up (?).
Seedlings cut near the base in soil that will not be used this season? I decided to try planting the roots.

Maybe we’ll know the results in the spring? ,I’m looking forward to.

✓ Third: Try giving a soil conditioner.

Neither the above book I’m referring to, nor the book by Akinori Kimura, the “Miracle Apple”, mentions giving soil conditioners.
Since our house is small and we use planter gardening with a short and quick cycle, I felt that I couldn’t wait for many years for the soil bacteria to become rich.
So is it called doping? I decided to give the soil conditioner as a booster.

Around that time, “Calsu” was popular, and “Calsu” itself was so popular that I couldn’t get it.

We have a small balcony, so this amount is enough.

Add the stated amount to the soil for planting winter-spring seedlings instead of fertilizers and pesticides,
Furthermore, I mixed it into the soil from spring to summer to fall, which was mixed with granules and roots.
I used the latter to make compost, which I wanted to try later on, so that’s another article.

I don’t know if it’s natural cultivation or what, but is it original by mixing what I wanted to do? I think it’s about that.

It’s within my responsibility, so I’m going to do it as I see fit.

The soil that has been treated this time will be used for planting this spring, summer, and fall.
I guess we won’t see the full-fledged results until autumn.
I would like to list the progress up to that point.
