Overwintering in Sanbritainia
According to the weather forecast, the temperature in Osaka tomorrow, December 1st, will be 12℃/8℃.
According to the official website, the cold resistance temperature of Sanbritainia is 3℃.
As the temperature suddenly dropped, I decided to let it overwinter.

Sanbritainia

Sambritenia blooms as autumn deepens.
As I wrote in a previous article, I let the water drain out, so the roots withered and became sparse.
Even if I brought it indoors while it was growing, the stems would easily break and get in the way, so I took the plunge and put scissors in there.

I don’t want it to get too big, so although there are no buds or leaves at the base of the original stock,
Cut it into smaller pieces in hopes that new growth will grow from where you cut it.

Furthermore, I know that Sambritenia is easy to bud due to the “injury to honor” up until now.
I put away a lot of pruned branches as insurance for next spring. *This is within the range of personal enjoyment.

The method is simple.
Remove the leaves about 5cm below the cut branch.
Make a hole about 5cm deep in the soil.
Plug it in there, bury it, and water it.
The roots grew within a few days in November, but what do you think?
I’ll go to my room so I’ll be back soon. Let’s look forward to it.

Looking at it this way, I think it has the colors of spring and summer flowers.
I can’t help but smile at the cheerful and bright colors.

Thank you for blooming even though I ran out of water. We hope to see you again next year.
