As the temperature gets higher and the sun gets stronger,
Lavender is now on the rise on my balcony. Let me introduce you to the situation.

First up is the French lavender “Rafflesberry”.
I thought the flowers would be in season around May, but they are already blooming.

Actually, I got this last spring and it went through summer and winter without being pruned.
It has grown quite large and I regret not pruning it.

Also, in winter, the sunlight reaches deep, so it grows upwards.
As it gets warmer, it lengthens and changes its shape in search of sunlight,
He grew up in a strange way, as if a box had been crushed from the top.

Cute but narrow balcony.
The stock looks like it’s going to get pretty big, so I don’t know if I should get rid of it or not. I am thinking.

Next is lace lavender.
I pruned it just a month ago and it’s growing really well now.

It also has flower buds!

It seems to be alive and I’m glad I pruned it back then.
I’m sure it’s going to get bigger and bigger, and I’m planning to prune it before the next rainy season.
I think that way I can maintain a nice size for a long time.
As a record, I’ll write again after I cut it.

Lastly, Nagasaki lavender “Little Mummy”.
I wanted the plant to take root well enough to survive the summer, so I acquired this plant last November and it survived the winter.
I couldn’t see much growth, and I thought it couldn’t be helped, but
It’s been growing rapidly with the recent warmth.
It seems like it won’t get very big if the temperature isn’t warm enough.

I love the scent of lavender, and Little Mummy is also very important to me.
I was very impressed that not only new buds were growing, but flower buds were also appearing.

It will probably be a while before it actually blooms, but I’m looking forward to it and I’m looking forward to it.
Also, it looks like it won’t be as big this year as I thought, which is a relief.
I hope we can be together for a long time.

So, towards the end of spring,
The lavenders were the most active on my balcony right now.

It’s over.
