In mid-June, more than two months ago, I pruned two of my lavender plants.
I’d like to introduce you to what happened after that.
First up is Nagasaki lavender “Little Mummy.”
Even though the temperature continues to be over 35 degrees Celsius, it is thriving in a sunny and well-ventilated place.
It’s also beautiful when the color turns white towards the tips of the leaves…or rather, this is probably due to heat damage (lol).
The roots are sparse, but if you look closely you can see many small buds attached to the dead branches and it seems to be in good health.
It bloomed probably because it was a little cooler after last week’s typhoon.
As of now, another bud has appeared.
However, I couldn’t let the stock weaken, so I cut it immediately after this.
The scent that I haven’t seen in a long time is soothing.
According to the official website, watermark pruning and fertilizer will be done after Obon, but I guess it’s still a long way off.
I plan to do this when the maximum temperature drops below 30℃.
Next is lace lavender.
This one is also slowly and steadily growing.
I keep it in the shade of my house,
Is it a bud or a branch tip, perhaps because it is a place that is often hit by people and things? is often bent.
I plan to move it to a better location when it gets cooler.
To my delight, I also found what looked like buds here.
I think it’s a little too early,
After all, it’s nice to feel the change of seasons.
Little Mummy blooms for two seasons, and Lace Lavender blooms for four seasons.
Let’s look forward to seeing both flowers again and work hard to take care of them.
