It’s cloudy in Osaka today and the temperature is 26℃/19℃.
The stuffy air foreshadows rain that will continue from next week.
Meanwhile, it continues to bloom
I decided to prune the flowers of Nagasaki lavender “Little Mummy”.
This is what it looks like before pruning. About 40cm high x 60cm wide.
This is the first year since I planted it last fall, and it has grown quite voluminous.

I cut off a branch with flowers that had apparently been blooming for two weeks.
I left some that were still in bud.

While I was cutting it, it smelled so good that I felt like I was in heaven.
I was able to harvest so much.

I’m planning to make dried flowers at this time.
The next bloom will be in autumn. Let’s look forward to it.

Also, take care of the lace lavender.
It got quite bushy so I was thinking of pruning it, but…
My family, who didn’t know anything about it, had cut it all off before I knew it.
I thought this would be a good idea for pruning before the rainy season.

Ah, but watermark pruning may be necessary. The bushes are amazing.
I took the opportunity to clean up my roots. It feels good to watch.

This lace lavender is the second generation.
I pruned the first generation too much last summer and it failed, so I want to be more careful with it this time.
They bloom well and keep well even as cut flowers, so I hope they can be enjoyed for a long time.
Let’s take care of it.
So, one step of maintenance before the rainy season has been completed.
The relief was short-lived, but maintenance continues as we prepare for summer.
Let’s enjoy it and move on.
