Calibrachoa

I have prepared seedlings for the summer.

I have already decided what I want this summer.

Clockwise from the upper left pink flower,
Pelargonium granpasso plus ‘Sweet Pink’,
Veranda vegetable garden cherry tomatoes – cherry tomatoes – sweet basil,
Petunia ‘Easy Wave’ yellow, Calibrachoa ‘Uno Double’ orange.

Pelargoniums are only available until early summer, but my family fell in love with them and bought them.
I would choose the same series “Bicolor”,
When I brought it home, it looked gorgeous with the other plants, and I was glad I chose this color.
Sometimes you need a sense of family.

I have been growing cherry tomatoes ever since I was a child.
I planted basil last year too, and the basil sauce I made with the perilla leaves was delicious, so I got some again this year.
I lose my appetite in the summer, but this was the only thing I could eat that was delicious, so I highly recommend it.

The basil in this photo is so cute that it looks like it’s reaching out and saying “Hi!”.

The basil

This year, I am growing strawberries in the spring and enjoying the joy of producing fruit.
I’m really looking forward to the cherry tomatoes too. If you have a lot, let’s make tomato sauce.

The cherry tomatoes I bought this time are 30-40cm tall and are said to be for balcony gardening.
The basil is said to be 50-70cm long…Let’s harvest a lot.

Next up is Petunia ‘Easy Wave’ yellow.

The flowers haven’t bloomed yet, but perhaps because they’re so popular, there’s only one yellow one left.
I hope the refreshing yellow looks like sherbet in the summer.

Lastly, Calibrachoa “Uno Double” orange.
It was sold alongside the red Calibrachoa, and I was very hesitant, but I was drawn to it.
Since then, I’ve seen similar seedlings at other stores, but this seems to be the best, so I think this was a good choice.

Calibrachoa

I think the real thing looks a little darker in tone.
It was darker when I first bought it, but it has gradually become brighter and more yellowish.
However, the most recent flowers are a deep orange with a strong reddish hue. Change is fun.

For some reason I’m drawn to dark oranges and deep reds like this right now, so I guess there’s something to it.

In fact, the one I haven’t gotten my hands on yet is Super Torenia Catalina “Blue River”.

Super Torenia Catarina

I went to about 5 stores several times at different times, but it seems they don’t stock Torenia itself yet?
I won’t be planting them all together this year, so it doesn’t matter if I find them any time, and I’m not going to give up and keep looking for them.
I think it would look nice and cool next to Petunia ‘Easy Wave’ Yellow.

So, I’m thinking of planting them during Golden Week, taking advantage of the rain.
