I decided to take care of the plants while bringing them into the house.

First up is hydrangea.
I decided to leave it outside so I wouldn’t have to worry about it getting soaked.
However, I thought it would be a shame to damage the only flower this year, so I decided to prune only the flowers.

The tsuba’s expression changes every time you look at it, and today it had a complex and beautiful color that is a mixture of red and blue.
It’s not a special seedling, but I’m grateful that I was able to enjoy its beauty, and I’m looking forward to next year.

Next is Margaret.
I had planned to prune the trees before the rainy season, but the rainy season quickly set in and I missed the opportunity.
This time, I decided to take the plunge and grabbed scissors because I thought it was getting too big and would be a nuisance to getting into the house.

There are leaves at the base, so roughly prune them to that point.
When you pull back and look, you can see how thick it is.

After all, the flowers are still blooming and there are still buds left,
This time, I decided to only prune the areas indicated by the yellow dotted lines.
It looks like something has bitten me.

I plan to prune it several times in the future, and after making it smaller, I will change the soil.
Some people may be surprised because it’s pretty quick, but
I’ve been doing this every year for about 10 years, so I think it’ll be fine this year as well.
It’s not good to expose it to rain, so I decided to put it inside the house.

Next is rosemary.
I also like it dry, so I decided to put it in my house.
We’ve been together for over five years now, and every year we cut it into smaller pieces.
I wanted to see the flowers this year, so I let them grow without touching them since last fall.
In the end, it didn’t flower, but it grew into a bush, reaching about 70cm in height. It’s huge so I had to prune it carefully.

Just prune the part circled in yellow.

I kept the others because I plan to use them for cooking in the future.
Use the new shoots while they are still soft.

Of course, the pruned branch was longer than my forearm.
I thought it would be nice to make a wreath, but I was too lazy to go out and buy the things I needed.
I decided to tie it up with linen thread and hang it upside down. …To put it fashionably, I guess you could call it swag.
It has a very nice scent and is great for refreshing during the humid rainy season! I’m glad I cut it.

Like that, I finished watering so that it wouldn’t run out of water while I was putting it in the house.
I thought about how to fit it into the house, cleaned it up, and when it started raining that night, I went inside.
I think I might be a bit overprotective, but I regret doing it more than regretting not doing it!
