Bright yellow and orange hues,
I didn’t really like nasturtiums because of their cute round leaves and simple “flower” feel.
I discovered its charm last year when I read Keiko Yoshitani’s book, and this year I planted the seeds and tried growing them.
I chose “Nasturtium Jewel Mix”.
In my house, seven buds have sprouted, grown, and are blooming.
The first one to bloom was yellow.
Its bright, reddish matte color lifts the gloom of the rainy season.
Next, two types of orange.
Is it due to the strength of the light at the place where it is placed?
The former looks like a matte orange, while the latter looks like a transparent orange juice color with a strong yellow tinge.
Later, the red three plants bloomed.
All of the colors are light and diluted fluorescent colors, making them refreshing during the rainy season.
However, I felt that the flowers lasted the least.
The last one to bloom was a bitter yellow.
I love the cute image of nasturtiums, which gives it a chic feel. Stylish.
This plant is placed in a high place and enjoys drooping.
This appearance, including the curves of the leaves and stems, is one of the attractive features of nasturtiums.
Heuchera Palace Purple brings out the fancy flowers and leaves.
Even though they are opposite colors, their charm stands out and makes me think that nature is amazing after all.
The nasturtium weather continues to rise above 30 degrees Celsius, and its momentum is beginning to decline.
I probably won’t be able to make it through the summer, so I’ll call it a day.
During the cut-back season in early summer, they instantly livened up the lonely balcony with no flowers.
They keep well even as cut flowers, and since they bloom one after another, you don’t feel guilty about cutting them.
As long as you don’t use pesticides or fertilizers and just pay attention to drainage, you’ll be fine, and there are many good things about it.
The downside is that the plants grow quite large, but I’m still glad I grew them.
Let’s cherish the remaining days and treat them with care until the end.
Thank you for making me happy.
